Product Description
William Sydney Porter began publishing short stories under the pseudonym O. Henry to support his daughter while he was in prison on embezzlement charges. After his release in 1902, he became a short story writer for New York World, writing 113 in three years. His immensely popular works usually explore the lives of common people in New York, and masterfully employ irony and humor within the short-story form.
