Tom Swift in the Land of Wonders

Pseudonym of Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930), who created Tom Swift and his milieu. Most of the stories in the original Tom Swift series were penned by Howard Garis, who worked from rough outlines sketched by Stratemeyer. In the 1950s, Stratemeyer's daughter Harriet Adams launched a new Swift series featuring the original character's son and ostensibly written by "Victor Appleton II."
