An author who juggled a writing career with his work as an administrator for the British postal service, Anthony Trollope stands today among the most beloved of British novelists. Equally skilled at writing humorous stories (Barchester Towers) and more serious pieces (Sir Harry Hotspur of Humblethwaite), Trollope was best-known for his Barsetshire novels, all of which featured depictions of clerical life in a fictitious English county.
