Robert Fergusson’s Scots Poems

In a poetic career that lasted only two years, Robert Fergusson cemented his position as one of the central figures in vernacular Scots literature. Fergusson's career was interrupted first by his fits of depression, then ended permanently by a blow to the head that rendered him insane. He died in an Edinburgh asylum at the age of 24.
