Lombard Street. A Description of the Money Market

Walter Bagehot developed the intellectual integration of economics, history, and political theory, enjoying a fecund career as a writer on these topics and editor of The Economist. Best known among his several works is The English Constitution, in which he describes the government's actual functioning; Lombard Street, in which Bagehot describes the workings of the money market, also remains widely read.
