Histories of Cyrus the Great and Alexander the Great

This prolific Massachusetts Congregationalist clergyman wrote over 200 works, many with the help of his younger brother John. Best known perhaps for The Young Christian (1832), Abbott devoted himself to stories that would instruct or enlighten his readers, many of whom were children.
