He quickly mastered the relevant techniques and began writing guitar music suited to his personal strengths. Later, Carulli moved to Paris and captivated French audiences; they had never before encountered a performer who applied such musicianship to the guitar. Carulli's compositions are virtually forgotten today, but his pedagogical writings on the guitar remain indispensable to amateur and professional alike. |
