Ignace Jan Paderewski (1860 - 1941),  list of works
One of the highest-paid pianists of all time (and a fine nationalist composer to boot), Ignace Jan Paderewski retired from his concert career to join the battle for Polish reunification at the end of World War I. Upon his return to Poland, the grateful nation elected him president - thus setting him up for a distinguished diplomatic career.
