His essays are collected in Essays of Elia, titled in reference to his pen name, and include such works as "Dissertation on a Roast Pig" and "Dream Children." Lamb is also known for his Tales from Shakespeare, written with his sister, Mary, for whom he later cared when hereditary mental problems rendered her psychotic. Lamb's letters include his correspondence with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the essayist's schoolmate and lifelong friend. |
