Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445-1510),  list of works
The career of Botticelli, born Allesandro di Mariano Filipepi in Florence, came after the first flourishing of the arts in Florence and before the birth of the High Renaissance. Botticelli's work fell out of fashion by the end of his life, and was not really looked at again until the 19th century, when the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood took him for a patron saint of sensuality. His work is highly traditional, yet shows an individual sensitivity to color and delineation between form and background. His most famous works, La Primavera and The Birth of Venus, are still reprinted continually.
